She is an Associate Professor at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia serving as the Associate Director for Graduate Nursing education and teaching FNP and DNP students. In addition, Moriarty has been actively educating medical professionals and the lay community about headaches for several years through formal lectures, publications, multimedia presentations, and precepted clinical experiences. She is dedicated to providing headache education to colleagues in primary care.

Maureen A. Moriarty, DNP, ANP-BC, FAHS, FAANP, a current fellow of The American Headache Society and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, is an adult nurse practitioner who manages headache patients in an ambulatory setting. She cares for people with migraine, cluster, tension-type, post-traumatic headache, and a variety of atypical facial pain. Before opening Moriarty Associates, a Comprehensive Headache Center, she worked at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital caring for this population.
