Throughout his career, Scott has remained active in pain medicine education and professional organizations. He has served as faculty and speaker at regional and national conferences focused on pain management, patient safety, compliance, opioid stewardship, and clinical education. He has also been involved with the Pain Society of the Carolinas since its inception in 2010, including service on the annual meeting planning committee, faculty for annual meetings and scientific sessions, and, more recently, the Board of Directors. Scott presented at PMAAPP’s inaugural conference in 2025.

After relocating to Florida following his wife’s transition from active-duty service as a Commander in the U.S. Navy, Scott stepped away from active clinical practice to focus on family priorities while remaining professionally engaged through continuing education, conference participation, and organizational involvement.

Outside of medicine, Scott stays active in community and educational leadership roles in Northeast Florida, including service on the University of North Florida Osprey Boosters Executive Council, local school advisory initiatives, and nonprofit board involvement. Scott lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, with his wife, a radiologist at Mayo Clinic, and their four children. Much of Scott’s time outside of medicine is now spent supporting his children’s academic, athletic, and extracurricular activities.
